BMW 1 Series, 2 Series and 3 Series renewed. What are the differences?

BMW has operated a minor update to three models in the range. Know the main news here.

It's been a busy few months at BMW's headquarters in Munich. From the introduction of the new generation of the 5 Series, through the updated 4 Series range and the new BMW M4 CS, there is no shortage of news. And taking into account the brand's plans for the next two years, this model offensive is to continue.

The new chapter of this offensive goes through the Series 1, Series 2 and Series 3 range updates . But let's go by parts.

BMW 1 Series

As we have already mentioned, the BMW 1 Series will see a new generation in 2019. But before presenting its new proposal for the C-segment, the German brand operated a (very) slight update to the current model.

The biggest differences are concentrated in the cabin, which received a redesigned instrument panel and center console and new finishes for the seats and ventilation outlets. The iDrive system was also updated, as was the 8.8-inch screen.

On the outside, three new special versions – Edition Sport Line Shadow, Edition M Sport Shadow and BMW M140i Edition Shadow – that add darker tones to the grille and headlights. Also new are the two new colors for the bodywork: Seaside Blue and Sunset Orange.

BMW 2 Series

For the BMW 2 Series, the changes are just as subtle. In addition to the wide range of options for the wheels and colors for the bodywork – new tones Mediterranean Blue, Seaside Blue and Sunset Orange – the 2 Series Coupé and Convertible receive new bumpers with larger air intakes, as well as the grille of the double kidney. The Series 2 range comes with LED headlamps as standard.

Inside, the same new features as the Series 1: updated infotainment and navigation systems, a slight overhaul to the instrument panel and center console, and new finishes all over the cabin.

BMW 3 Series

As for the 3 Series, BMW debuts the three new editions Edition Sport Line Shadow, Edition Luxury Line Purity and Edition M Sport Shadow – available for the saloon and van. The first adds some black details on the grille, rear and front lights, exhausts and 18-inch wheels.

The Luxury Line Purity edition exchanges dark tones for aluminum finishes; the M Sport Shadow stands out for its 19-inch wheels, sports suspension and an aerodynamic package. Inside, the steering wheel with the M Sport signature stands out.

In addition to these three special editions, the BMW 3 Series offers new body colors – like Sunset Orange – and an updated iDrive system.
