New Rolls-Royce Phantom to be unveiled next week

In recent months, much has been speculated about the new Rolls-Royce model – not the Phantom, but the Cullinan. The iconic British brand is working on what will be its first SUV, but this will only arrive in 2018.

However, no less important is the presentation of the new Rolls-Royce Phantom , scheduled for July 27, in an event that will honor all seven generations of the Rolls-Royce standard bearer.

A little over a week before the big reveal, a set of images of the new model were released by the Chinese press. Taking into account these images, apparently taken from an official brochure, in aesthetic terms the new Rolls-Royce Phantom will not be radically different from the current one.

The front section stands out for its updated luminous signature, using LED lights and redesigned bumpers. The traditional grid will have a more vertical orientation.

Inside, the changes are more significant, with a likely digital instrument panel, ventilation outlets positioned lower in the center console and a new steering wheel, among other innovations.

The new generation of Rolls-Royce Phantom will use a new platform, shared with the Cullinan, which will have aluminum and carbon fiber (for the benefit of weight) as its main materials. Hopefully, the new Phantom will stay true to the V12 configuration, though it's unclear whether it will resort to the current 6.75 liter engine (atmospheric) or the Ghost's 6.6 liter engine (supercharged). To know the official data we will have to wait until next week.
