A decade after releasing the first part of Tesla's future plan to the world, Elon Musk recently unveiled the second part of his master plan. The plan consists of four very ambitious goals: democratizing charging through solar panels, expanding the range of electric vehicles to other segments, developing autonomous driving technology ten times safer than today's and… making the autonomous car a source of income while we are not using it.
At first glance, it looks like just another cheesy Elon Musk idea, but like many others, we have no doubts that the American magnate will do everything to make the dream come true. If there were any doubts, Musk really wants to change the entire mobility system.

Naturally, a personal vehicle is used for a small part of the day. According to Elon Musk, on average, cars are used 5-10% of the time, but with autonomous driving systems, that will all change. The plan is simple: while we are working, sleeping or even on vacation, it will be possible to transform the Tesla into a fully autonomous taxi.Everything is done through a mobile application (either for owners or for those who will use the service), similarly to Uber, Cabify and other transport services. In areas where demand exceeds supply, Tesla will operate its own fleet, guaranteeing the service's operation at all times.
In this scenario, the income for each owner of a Tesla could even exceed the value of the installment of the car, which drastically reduces the cost of ownership and which ultimately would allow everyone “to have a Tesla”. However, all this will depend on the evolution of autonomous driving systems and legislation, we can only wait!
