Something that is not totally unreasonable, looking at the offer of rivals Ingolstadt (Audi A3 Limousine) and Stuttgart (Mercedes-Benz CLA). But as for the Series 1 Sedan, unfortunately, it's just that… rumors.
If, when it comes to architecture, BMW gave the «arm to cheer» and opted for the most common solution – transverse engine and front-wheel drive, here you know why – when it comes to bodywork derivations, BMW does not want to go after the competition. According to Autocar, one of the fears of the Munich brand is that a possible success of the Sedan version of the 1 Series in the «old continent» could cannibalize the sales of the models in the above segment.

A feature that should not differ from the new generation of the European BMW 1 Series, which is already in the testing phase but should only reach the European market in 2019.
