BMW M4 CSL. The most radical of the M4 already "attacks" the Nürburgring

Anonim

We've already caught it on several occasions, but now we see, finally and exclusively nationally, the future BMW M4 CSL in action on the most famous German circuit of all, the Nürburgring.

The BMW M took two test prototypes to “green hell” and, as far as we can see, there doesn't seem to have been room for pleasantries — after all, they are test prototypes…

And we can see it clearly, in one of the prototypes, where the front brake discs show a bright reddish tone, which allows for a concrete idea of the rhythm imposed on the most hardcore M4 during its passage through the German circuit.

If the “shining” brake discs immediately captured our attention, the spy photos also allowed us to detect new details in the future M4 CSL. In particular, the new graphics for the taillights, which differ from what we see on the M4 on sale or on the Series 4.

You can even see that the rear side window remains camouflaged on both prototypes. Which leads to speculate that the M4 CSL may come to do without the rear seats, all with the objective of reducing the mass of this sports car — this generation is far from being considered “light”.

For the rest, little more is known about the technical specifications. The only certainty is that under the hood we will continue to find the S58, the block of six cylinders in a twin-turbo line that already equips the M3 and M4, but which here should gain some horsepower. It is estimated to reach 540 hp, 30 hp more than the M4 Competition.

The engine's power will be sent, exclusively, to the rear wheels, despite the all-wheel drive being part of the menu of the G82 generation of the M4. And the transmission will be in charge of the eight-speed automatic transmission.

Taking into account the finished look of these test prototypes, the unveiling of the BMW M4 CSL is expected to take place during the first quarter of 2022, with the first deliveries taking place in the second half.
