The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupé promises the same elegance as always, combined with a sportier character. These are the main news.

After the saloon, van and the more adventurous variant, the E-Class family has just welcomed a new element: the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupé.

As the name implies, this is an evolution of the Stuttgart brand's design language, with an emphasis on the sporty character of the three-door coupé bodywork.

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupé distances itself from its predecessor in terms of dimensions: in addition to being wider, taller and longer, the new model has a superior wheelbase. According to the brand, all this benefits not only the comfort on long journeys but also the space inside, namely in the rear seats. The E-Class Coupé also has a Direct Control suspension (as standard), 15 mm lower than the saloon.

In terms of aesthetics, the differences in relation to the other members of the E-Class family are obvious: longer and more muscular bonnet, a more dynamic roofline, the absence of the B-pillar and a more robust rear section. Another of the highlights is the redesigned headlamps that mark the debut of the new lighting technology from Mercedes-Benz, LED MultiBeam, with more than 8 thousand individual LEDs – learn more about this technology here.

Inside, in addition to the usual focus on finishes and build quality, the German coupé makes use of two 12.3-inch screens – a novelty in the segment – to give a wider cockpit feel. At the bottom we find four ventilation outlets (plus two at the ends), which have been redesigned to resemble a turbine.

Also in the cabin, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupé is equipped with a Burmester sound system with 23 speakers and LED lighting that can be customized thanks to the 64 available colours.

With regard to the range of engines, the novelty is the new entry version E220d , equipped with a four-cylinder diesel engine with 194 hp of power, 400 Nm of torque and announced consumption of 4.0/100 km. On offer with gasoline are the usual E200 (2.0 l) , E300 (2.0 l) and E400 4Matic (V6 3.0 l with all-wheel drive), with 184 hp, 245 hp and 333 hp of power, respectively. More engines will be announced soon.
