This is the profile of the new Kia XCeed

Anonim

Designed at Kia's design center in Germany (more precisely in Frankfurt) and scheduled for June 26th, so far, we've only seen the new XCeed in sketches, this despite Francisco Mota having already driven (and seen) it on the occasion of the election of Car Of The Year 2019.

However, that has now changed, with Kia unveiling the first official image of the Ceed CUV (crossover utility vehicle) variant. For now we've only had the opportunity to see him in profile, but the image revealed confirms that with XCeed, Kia tried to “marry” dynamism with robustness.

Compared to the five-door Ceeds, the XCeed comes with a more sloping roofline (although it doesn't seem to give "coupé air" as Kia claims), it has the usual plastic body protections, bars. roof and, of course, it has a slightly higher suspension (but not as much as the sketches anticipated).

Repeat the Stonic recipe

Apparently, Kia's goal with XCeed is to repeat Stonic's (successful) recipe, that is: starting from the basis of a signed credits model (in this case Ceed) to create a new model and not just a version of “rolled up pants” of the model that serves as its base (as with the Focus Active).

Although Kia has not yet revealed technical data about the XCeed, the most likely thing is that it will inherit the engines used by the other Ceeds (1.0 T-GDI, 1.4 T-GDI and 1.6 CRDI), bringing a new plug hybrid engine. -in, which will be shared later by the rest of the Ceed family.
