Responsible for importing and marketing Volvo cars in Portugal, Volvo Car Portugal began operating in Portugal in 2008, having constituted itself as a National Sales Company of the Volvo Car Group.

Until 2014, the company operated from the city of Porto, having carried out, in that same year, the move to the country's capital, and since then it has been headquartered in the Lagoas Park Business Complex, in Oeiras.

Marked by an undeniable success, the 10 years of existence of Volvo Car Portugal led to a growth in the manufacturer's market share, from 0.82% in 2008, to 2.07% in 2017, as well as an increase in the number of enrollments, from 2214 in 2008, to 4605 in 2017.

In 2018, the Portuguese subsidiary of Volvo Cars maintains the growth trend, with an increase of 7.3%, a figure higher than the European average for the manufacturer in Gothenburg.

10 models released

Volvo Car Portugal was responsible for launching 10 models of the brand, corresponding to each year of activity. It started with the launch of the first generation Volvo XC60 (2008), the Volvo S60 and V60 (2010) and the Volvo V40 (2012) and more recently, the new generation of models, after acquisition by Geely: Volvo XC90 (2015 ), Volvo S90 and V90 (2016), the second generation of the Volvo XC60 (2017), and this year, the unprecedented Volvo XC40 and the new generation of the Volvo V60.
