It's confirmed: Mini Paceman will be released in Portugal on March 16, 2013.
I confess that I'm not very excited about the arrival of yet another Mini «invention» – the first Sports Activity Coupé in the premium compact segment – but I can't say that I'm not something curious to see what's coming next. From the name that Mini itself gives it, it seems to me that we are going to be looking at a car that has never been seen before. Which might even be true… after all, this is the first Sports Activi… – anyway, you know the rest.
The following engines are reserved for Portugal:
Cooper D – 112 hp;
Cooper – 122 hp;
Cooper S – 184 hp;
Cooper SD – 143 hp;
John Cooper Works – 218 hp (will only arrive in April 2013).
As for prices , Mini Portugal, predicts that the Cooper D will have a value of around €28,500 and the remaining versions correspond to €1,300 more compared to the values of the equivalent version of the Mini Coutryman. That is, according to my accounts:
Cooper D – €28,500;
Cooper – €28,200;
Cooper S – €32,150;
Cooper SD – €34,250;
But if for some reason you prefer an automatic teller machine, then prepare yourself, because the prices you have just seen will suffer an inflation of €5,900. The automatic transmission is available on all models, as is the All4 all-wheel drive option which will cost an additional €3,250 – only the Cooper model will not come with this option.
