Alfa Romeo has announced that in recent days its latest sports car, the Alfa Romeo 4C, has set a lap record of 8 minutes and 04 seconds at Germany's iconic Nurburgring circuit. This record makes the Alfa Romeo 4C the fastest car ever in the under 250hp (245hp) category.

Alfa Romeo's small sports car completed the 20.83 KM of Inferno Verde in just 8m and 04s, thus beating other sports cars with at least considerable differences in power compared to the 4C…

This fantastic feat was achieved by the hands of the pilot Horst von Saurma who had a 4C equipped with Pirelli “AR” P Zero Trofeo tyres, developed especially for the Alfa Romeo 4C, which allow daily use as well as track use. Alfa Romeo's latest rear-wheel drive sports car has a 1.8 Turbo petrol engine capable of generating 245 hp and 350 Nm and a maximum speed estimated at 258 KM/H. And because it's not just power that makes a sports car, the 4C has a total weight of just 895 KG.
