New Peugeot 308 elected International Car of the Year 2014

The new Peugeot 308 has just been named International Car of the Year 2014, succeeding its arch-rival Volkswagen Golf.

The new Peugeot 308 was announced as the winner of the 2014 Car of the Year award. An international distinction, awarded by a jury made up of 58 journalists from 22 European countries. In the race for the most coveted car distinction were 30 new models, all of them beaten by the new French model.

The Peugeot 308 won a total of 307 votes, surpassing the Bavarian competition of the BMW i3, which obtained 223 votes. In third place was the best seller in Denmark, the Tesla Model S with 216 votes. In fourth place comes another model from the PSA group, the Citroen C4 Picasso with 182 votes. Fifth place was reserved for the new Mazda3, with 180 votes, thus closing the TOP-5.
