It's the Volkswagen Polo that elephants like best!

It was in a nice Volkswagen Polo that this elephant found a solution for its itching.

It all happened in the nature reserve, in the Pilanesburg National Park, in South Africa, where two occupants of a Volkswagen Polo decided to take a walk, until they came face to face with the affable elephant named Nellie.

Everything went well until an elephant decided to literally sit in the little German compact. The incident cartoon was captured through the lens of Armand Grobler, a zoologist, specialist in Ethology – a science that studies animal behavior.

NOT TO BE MISSED: Shooting a movie almost ends in tragedy

According to Gobler, the explanation for what happened couldn't be more obvious: the elephant was itchy. But in the wild they usually use trees or rocks to scratch themselves and even scrape the skin to remove parasites, but apparently, the elephant Nellie couldn't hold out until the next rock or tree. Luck ended up going to the friendly Polo who was there more at hand, or should we say… more at the trunk!

Fortunately no one was hurt although the little Polo was shaken more than it ever would be at any inspection center.

The damage to the Polo basically dictated the total loss of the vehicle. The itch of the elephant Nellie resulted in a completely dented roof, broken glass, four blown tires and a deformed chassis were not enough. For Volkswagen it could even be an excellent opportunity to claim the 6th star at EURONCAP, as the Polo also resists Elephants with hives attacks.
