Ferrari 812 Superfast. the most powerful ever

Anonim

The Ferrari 812 Superfast is the most powerful series model from the Italian brand ever. Eventually, it will be Ferrari's last "great" atmospheric.

The Ferrari 812 Superfast is the successor to the well-known Ferrari F12. The platform of this new model is basically a revised and improved version of the F12 platform, not least because the big changes were reserved for the power unit.

This new model uses a naturally aspirated V12, now with 6.5 liters of capacity. In total it's 800 hp at 8500 rpm and 718 Nm at 7,000 rpm, with 80% of that available right at 3500 rpm! Numbers that outperform the F12 tdf numbers by a comfortable margin.

It is thanks to these numbers that the brand considers the Ferrari 812 Superfast as its “most powerful and fastest production model ever” (note: Ferrari does not consider the LaFerrari a limited edition). This should also be the last of the pure V12s. That is, without assistance of any kind, be it from overfeeding or hybridization.

The transmission is carried out exclusively to the rear wheels, through a seven-speed double-clutch gearbox. The benefits announced are equivalent to those of the F12 tdf, despite the 110 kg more than the 812 Superfast. The advertised dry weight is 1525 kg. The 0 to 100 km/h are dispatched in just 2.9 seconds and the advertised top speed is over 340 km/h.

The Ferrari 812 Superfast will also be the brand's first model to debut electrically-assisted steering. It was developed to work in conjunction with the Slide Slip Control, a system that accentuates the car's agility, providing greater longitudinal acceleration when exiting corners.

Ferrari 812 Superfast side

Wider and longer than the F12, the 812 Superfast adds the second generation Virtual Short Wheelbase system, which allows you to steer the rear wheels to increase agility at low speed and stability at high speed.

Visually, the 812 Superfast stands apart from its predecessor thanks to its more aggressive design, where the flanks are distinctly sculpted. Among other innovations, we highlight the definitive return to the four rear optics, as in the GTC4 Lusso. Despite all these changes, the final style of the model maintains the dynamism and visual aggressiveness of its predecessor.

Ferrari 812 Superfast interior

The interior also reflects this more radical stylistic orientation, but Ferrari promises to maintain the expected comfort of its models with V12 fronts. The Ferrari 812 Superfast will be publicly unveiled at the next Geneva Motor Show. Know all the models that will be present in this salon here.
