The most powerful Lamborghini in the world: Murcielago LP2000-2 SV TT

Lamborghini Murcielago LP2000-2 SV TT, stick that name. It's the most powerful Lamborghini in the world, and that sounds great doesn't it?

Here, on the sides of RazãoAutomóvel fountain, it is already becoming a habit, every week to present a car with more than 1000hp. Almost as naturally as a child eats ice cream. But this week RazãoAutomóvel doubled the bet… We present you Lamborghini Murcielago LP 2000-2 SV TT, a rough Italian with 2000hp of power. There are so many horses that we didn't even need to use an exclamation point at the end of the sentence.

This is what happens when they put an Italian sports car, exercising its muscles, in an American trainer: total madness! Although Murcielago's successor, the Aventador, is already on the loose on the roads, the “old” Murcielago still has some tricks to teach the Aventator. The person responsible for the lesson in humility and the art of torturing tyres, which Murcielago will sadistically apply to the Aventador, is called David Wiggins, and is responsible for developing the project.

To achieve this result, Wiggins and his team of engineers had to sweat – a lot… – their shirt. It took a total of 3000 hours to develop, research and build this insane Lamborghini.

It wasn't just about opening the hood, sticking two modified Garrett GTX-4294 turbos into the engine, shaking your hands and going home to see Benfica. It was necessary to develop a revised intake system, and with new bodies of butterflies, which would allow for better power to be dosed (as if that were possible...), a new exhaust system that could handle the entire flow of gases generated, between an endless stream of other solutions that I won't even name. Among them, the use of NASA materials, namely heat shields – exactly the same as those used by Space Shuttles – to protect the car from the heat generated by the engine.

The dynamic part was not forgotten, and the watchword was to increase. Increase the size of the brake discs; increase the size of the tires; increase chassis rigidity; finally, increase! The only thing that didn't increase was the weight. Thanks to the adoption of ultra-light materials and the use of expensive ADV.1 wheels, this Lamborghini weighs 255kg less than the “normal” version.

When talking about a 2000hp car, details such as the matte paint job or the luxury sound system immediately take a back seat. But they are also there.

Unfortunately, since this Lamborghini still doesn't respect the guidelines imposed by the EPA, with regard to noise and the emission of polluting gases, this is not where we see the “beast” in action. But the development team promises that the debut is soon, and we'll be here to see it!
