An apotheotic entrance. It's what we can expect from The Grand Tour, the new Jeremy Clarkson & Co. show. It opens on November 18th.
According to the British press, the new program of the former Top Gear trio, The Grand Tour, will have at its disposal a millionaire budget. According to The Sun, in the program's generic alone, more than 2.8 million euros.
How is it possible?Anything is possible when joining the wonder trio Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond. If you're doing math to see how it's possible to spend almost 3 million euros in less than 30 seconds of video, know that the production didn't do it for less.
Allegedly the trio will appear in the program's generic behind the wheel of three heavily modified Ford Mustangs, supported by another 150 automobiles, 2,000 extras, six jet planes, acrobats and jugglers. This “Mad Max”-style generic is just the most expensive generic in television history.
Arabian BudgetAlthough the budget for the first three seasons of The Grand Tour has never been released, the British press talks about a figure close to 180 million euros, which gives on average something like 5 million euros per program – more than ever the BBC made available for the making of Top Gear. The Grand Tour will premiere on November 18th, it is known for now that the first episode was recorded in a tent in Johannesburg, South Africa (images attached).
