Peugeot has already realized that the four-door coupés promise to delight consumers in the near future, and thinking about it, it is already engendering a strong competitor for the new Mercedes CLA: The Peugeot 501!
This R85 project, provisionally named 501, will be 4.6 meters long and will be based on the current Peugeot 508 platform. However, it will not be five seats, but four. According to L'Automobile Magazine's French, during the development of the 307, those responsible for Peugeot still thought about the possibility of creating a four-door coupé version. But Unfortunately, these plans were left lying in the drawer waiting for the right moment to take action.
And that moment is expected to happen towards the end of 2014, beginning of 2015. The French brand is still preparing a hybrid variant and a cabriolet version for this 501. For now that's all we know, but let's wait for more news because we are eager to know what the “lion” is really up to us. And judging by the image, it's something very good…
