Audi Q3: the first details of the next generation

Anonim

The arrival of a Q2 or Q1 generation (the nomenclature has not yet been decided), forces the new generation of the Audi Q3 to be introduced to the market as early as 2018. What do you think will change?

The size, without a doubt. With the arrival of a new member to Segment B Premium, the Q3 is no longer the “newbie” to the Q range. Now, the smallest crossover Audi will have to offer will be the future Q1/Q2. With this change, the Audi Q3 will have to come with larger measures, capable of distancing the two models well in the segments in which they are inserted. The overall length of the model is expected to grow from 172 to 177 inches.

Despite the increase in size, the Audi Q3 will lose some weight. Yea! More is less, thanks to the state-of-the-art MQB platform it will be built on. A technology that aims to be evolutionary rather than revolutionary.

The engine will be very similar to the new Volkswagen Tiguan, with eight engines «the customer's choice»: 125 hp, 150 hp, 180 hp or 220 hp gasoline (TSI) and 115 hp, 150 hp, 190 hp or 240 hp a diesel (TDI). All speculative still, of course.

Both a hotter version of the Q3 and a hybrid version, derived from the e-tron family, are versions that the German brand is considering for the lifecycle of the next Audi Q3. For now, let's just let Audi bring it into the world.
