Seat vice president of production awarded the Eurostars award

Dr. Andreas Tostmann received the award in the “Manufacturing Executive” category, in the awards that distinguish the best directors of the automotive industry in Europe.

The Vice President of Production at Seat, Dr. Andreas Tostmann, was recently recognized by the publication Automotive News Europe with the Eurostars award, in the Manufacturing Executive category, in praise of his professional trajectory as an outstanding responsible among the leaders of the European automotive industry, within the scope of excellence in production management.

With a PhD in Engineering, Andreas Tostmann joined Volkswagen in 1990, and since 2011 he has been Vice President of Production at Seat and responsible for the company's three factories in Spain. Since then, the Martorell plant has received the Lean Award 2013 and Lean & Green Management in 2015, titles awarded in recognition of the most efficient plant in the European automotive industry and with excellent management, respectively.

“Our objective is to continue to improve the quality and productivity indices, as well as efficiency in the field of the environment”, commented Andreas Tostmann, expressing his “thanks and satisfaction at the recognition resulting from the work of a whole team that has made it possible to increase production by 60% at the Martorell SEAT plant in the last six years”.

In 2015, Seat recorded the highest production volume since 2001, ending the year with a total of 477,077 vehicles manufactured. The Seat Ibiza, Leon and the Audi Q3 are manufactured at the Martorell unit, the only premium model manufactured in Spain.
