We've arrived! In a year in which what is considered one of the most emblematic off-road races held in Portugal celebrates 20 years of existence, we took up arms and luggage and came to the characteristic Vila de Fronteira, trying to discover why the authentic pilgrimage that are, for men and machines, the 24 Hours of TT Vila de Fronteira. And that's what you'll also be able to get to know, here at Razão Automóvel, throughout this weekend full of dust, cars of all types, accidents, dropouts, but, above all, a lot of camaraderie . Why is this the 24 Hours of Border!

The thing, in fact, promises: with a list of admitted to departure from a total of 77 cars, the 20th anniversary edition of the 24 Hours of TT Vila de Fronteira promises to be recorded in the annals of the event's history. Thanks, from the outset, to the disposition and very own spirit, of the pilots and the public. Both are certainly eager to make this competition more than a confrontation, a moment of celebration, some competition, but also a lot of fellowship and fraternization.

However, and after a Friday in which the necessary free and timed training sessions were carried out, with some audience already present at the Fronteira terradrome, men and machines are already preparing for the final moment of the match, scheduled for 2 pm this Saturday . With the vast majority willing to, more than fighting for victory, have fun and reach the end. Making this 20th edition of what is one of the most emblematic national all-terrain competitions, a unique moment, of celebration, and with a lot of sugar in the mix.

The championship apart from the SSV

In addition to all types of cars, in Fronteira there are also the SSVs, a kind of buggy, which in the Alentejo town, carry out a competition (and a show!) on its own – the 3 Horas TT Vila de Fronteira. Proof that, in fact, it serves as an anticipation of the biggest event of the weekend, taking place even at the appropriate time, between 8 and 11 am on this Saturday.

With a record participation of 44 vehicles, the pilots will face the same 15-kilometre circuit, with a lot of dust, holes and hollow terrain, which promises to put men and machines to the test. This year, however, with the participation of an unexpected “guest”, the Portuguese Moto2 rider, Miguel Oliveira, at the wheel of a Can—Am Maverick X3.

Basically, another reason for interest in a race that promises to be the first act of a real party that will certainly be this 20 years of 24 Hours of TT Vila de Fronteira.

In the meantime, and while the kickoff doesn't arrive, we leave you here the photos of this first day. Have fun discovering the magic of Border!…
