BMW X2 scheduled to debut at the Paris Motor Show

The Paris Motor Show was the stage chosen by the German brand to present the sixth SUV in its range, the new BMW X2.

The new BMW X2 has been appearing in road tests for several weeks now, revealing very little about its exterior forms. Aesthetically, while it has similarities to the X1 – mainly from the front to the B-pillar and inside – the BMW X2 is expected to show a more dynamic and sporty look thanks to a lower roofline. According to sources close to the Munich brand, the BMW X2 will use the UKL modular platform – the same one that houses the BMW X1 and the second generation of the Mini Countryman, the latter also planned for the Paris event.

In terms of engines, although nothing is definitive yet, we can expect a 186 hp 2.0 turbo gasoline engine (xDrive20i), while on the Diesel supply side, the BMW X2 will also be powered by a 146 hp 2.0 engine (xDrive18d) , 186 hp (xDrive20d) or 224 hp (xDrive25d). Optionally, a six-speed manual or automatic transmission is available, in addition to the all-wheel drive system.

Everything indicates that the BMW X2 should appear at the Paris Motor Show, which takes place between the 1st and the 16th of October, still in a concept version, in this one that could be a way of listening to the public's reactions regarding the external appearance. The release of the production version is only scheduled for the second half of 2017.
