Cold Start. Could this be a worthy successor to the Saab 9-5?

Anonim

THE Saab launched the last 9-5, and also one of its last models in 2009 — in the midst of the global financial crisis, but it was not the crisis that “killed” Saab. The company's problems had come a long way, so despite the fact that the Saab 9-5 was considered by many to be the best Saab ever, it could do little for the characteristic Swedish brand.

It was in production for just two years, until the end of 2011, coinciding with the bankruptcy announcement. If Saab were still operational, this year could very well be the one in which a new generation of the 9-5, the brand's flagship, would be made known. How would it be? That's what Joe Zechnas, a Spanish designer, set out to imagine.

His creation uses the name SAAB-NEVS in allusion to the company that bought the bankrupt brand. As for the car itself, it presents itself with a much more dynamic and sporty style than that which we associate with Saab. Clearly influenced by the ironically termed Saab Phoenix , a concept presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 2011, months before going bankrupt. Would it have a place in today's market?
