After the Renault Scénic, presented in Geneva, it was the French brand's turn to unveil the larger version, the Renault Grand Scénic.

There is almost nothing left of the previous Renault Grand Scénic. New platform, new design, new interiors and reinforcement of onboard technologies are some of the novelties of this new generation. Due to the increased proportions, the French model is slightly more robust and with a longer wheelbase.

According to the brand, the principles that guided the development of the interior were: comfort, equipment and versatility. The front seats have a structure similar to that of the Renault Espace, with an electric regulation with eight modes and a massage and heating function in the top-of-the-range versions.

The front passenger seat can even be folded down to the table position, thus providing a usable surface area of 2.85 meters. The second row of seats slides and folds independently, while the third row benefits from folding seats.

In the center console, the minivan has a storage space with a capacity of 13 liters. The front (illuminated) storage space is closed off by a sliding panel with integrated armrest. The rear face has two USB sockets, a jack socket, a 12 volt socket and a storage compartment for rear passengers. Throughout the cabin, there are also several storage places that make up a total of 63 liters of capacity.

Like the new Scénic, the Renault Grand Scénic is equipped as standard with various driving assistance systems, including Active Emergency Braking with pedestrian detection, Track Maintenance Assistant and Fatigue Detection Alert. But the big highlight goes to the Hybrid Assist system, whose function is to take advantage of the energy wasted in deceleration and braking to charge a 48V battery, energy that is later used to help the combustion engine work.

Thanks to the Multi-Sense control – which gives access to five driving modes – it is also possible to customize the driving experience, modifying the response of the accelerator pedal and the engine, the time between gear changes (with an automatic EDC gearbox), the rigidity of the steering, the luminous ambience of the cabin and the massage function of the driver's seat.

As it benefits from the same modular architecture (Common Module Family) as the compact version, the Renault Grand Scénic will be offered with the same range of engines: five diesel blocks of 1.5 and 1.6 dCi with powers between 95 and 160 hp and two engines. 115 and 130 hp TCe gasoline. The Renault Grand Scénic arrives on the national market by the end of the year.
