Opel Mokka X: adventurous breath

The Opel Mokka X was unveiled in Geneva with a clean face and more adventurous than ever.

The Opel Mokka X stands out from the previous version due to the changes in the horizontal grille, which now has a wing shape – with a more elaborate design, giving up some plastics present in the previous generation and LED daytime running lights that accompany the new “wing” forward. The rear LED lights (optional) underwent minor aesthetic changes, thus following the dynamics of the front lights. The range of chassis colors has been extended, now offering the option of choosing between Amber Orange and Absolute Red.

NOT TO BE MISSED: A kind of "luxury apartment" with over 600hp

The letter “X” is the representation of the adaptive all-wheel drive system that sends maximum torque to the front axle or makes a 50/50 split between the two axles, depending on the floor conditions. Opel, by using this nomenclature, wanted to convey a more adventurous and daring spirit.

Inside the crossover, we find a cabin inherited from the Opel Astra, with a seven (or eight) inch touchscreen, simpler and with fewer buttons – many of the functions are now integrated into the touchscreen. The Mokka X has the OnStar and IntelliLink systems, which leads the German brand to claim that this will be the most connected compact crossover in the segment.

After having sold more than half a million units in Europe, the German brand is determined to give not only a new image to the Opel Mokka X, but also a new engine: a 1.4 petrol turbo capable of delivering 152hp inherited from the Astra. However, the "company star" on the national market will continue to be the 1.6 CDTI engine.
