Three years after its launch, the PEUGEOT 208 appears with a renewed look and improvements in several fields. Arrives in Portugal in June.

The lion brand decided to operate some updates on its best-selling model, the Peugeot 208. According to the brand, the design is now “sportier and more raced, enhanced by two standard 3D LED headlamp beams” and several small updates to the along the entire bodywork. Highlight also for the new colors available, such as the brilliant Orange Power and for the new personalization contents.

The equipment evolves to facilitate urban driving (Active City Brake, MirrorScreen, Rear View Camera, Park Assist). Available with 3- and 5-door bodies, this upgrade of the Peugeot 208 features the new EAT6 six-speed robotic gearbox in almost all diesel and petrol engine versions.

In Diesel engines, the highlight goes to the 1.6 BlueHDI with three power levels – 75, 100 and 120 hp. The brand claims that the 75 hp version of the 1.6 BlueHDI is “the best diesel on the market”, with a consumption of just 3 liters per 100 km – “a record in the segment”.

In gasoline engines, the highlight goes to the 3-cylinder PureTech mechanics that we already knew in the 208, in the versions of 1.0 with 68 hp and 1.2 with 82 hp. Therefore, the biggest novelty is the turbo version of the 1.2 engine that produces 110 hp. The 208 hp's most powerful engine remains the 208 hp 1.6 THP block, which equips the GTi and GTi by Peugeot Sport sports versions.

The new Peugeot 208 will be marketed in Europe from June 2015 and will be produced in Poissy, France, and Trnava, Slovakia, for European markets.
