New Mercedes Vito: more functional

With a bolder exterior design and in line with the V-Class, the new Mercedes Vito came to try to win over customers. The interior remains simplistic and functional.

In addition to its new look, the new Mercedes Vito gives you a choice between 3 types of traction: front – sufficient for occasional services and city dwellers where most of the time you don't exceed more than half the permissible gross weight; rear wheel drive – suitable for heavier work and where there may be a need to transport a trailer; all-wheel drive – ideal for those who take off on routes that are difficult to access.

The new Mercedes Vito has a permissible gross weight of 2.8 t up to 3.05 t, depending on chassis and engine. It is available in 3 variants: Panel, Mixto and Tourer. The latter is a novelty and is primarily intended for passenger transport, available in 3 levels: Base, Pro and Select.

But there are also three types of bodywork to choose from: short, medium and long (4895 mm, 5140 mm and 5370 mm in length respectively). There are also 2 wheelbases: 3.2 m and 3.43 m.

Thanks to the new front-wheel drive, together with a compact diesel engine, the average weight of the Mercedes Vito mid-size payload with standard equipment is just 1761 kg.

As a result, even a Mercedes Vito with a permissible gross weight of 3.05 t achieves an impressive load of 1,289 kg. However, the payload champion in its class is the rear-wheel drive, with an allowable gross weight of 3.2 t and a load capacity of 1,369 kg.

Two turbodiesel engines with different power levels are available. The 1.6 transverse 4-cylinder engine has two power levels, the Mercedes Vito 109 CDI with 88 hp and the Mercedes Vito 111 CDI with 114 hp.

For higher performances, the best choice should fall on the 2.15 liter block with 3 power levels: the Mercedes Vito 114 CDI with 136 hp, the Mercedes Vito 116 CDI with 163 hp and the Mercedes Vito 119 BlueTEC with 190 hp, the first to obtain the EURO 6 certificate.
