Later this year, on December 1st, an auction will be held in London at the reputable auction house Bonhams, which will feature, among other pieces of high historical and monetary value, an extremely rare 1964 Facel Vega Facel II that belonged to the iconic Beatles drummer Ringo Starr.

After the beautiful Ferrari 330GT of his bandmate, John Lennon, was sold at auction in July this year for a “modest” 413,000 euros, now it's the turn of this 1964 Facel Vega Facel II which should be sold for a value between 355,000 and 415,000 euros.

It was in the 60s, more precisely the year of 1964, when the drummer Ringo Starr acquired this magnificent “brand new” copy at an automobile festival, and was later delivered to him in Surrey, England. Starr maintained a “partnership” with this Facel Vega Facel II for only four years before putting it on sale.

And now in a “history lesson”, this 1964 Facel Vega Facel II – model produced between the years 1962 and 1964 – by the French car manufacturer Facel, was equipped (at the request of Ringo Starr) with a huge 6-inch V8, 7 liters of original Chrysler capable of delivering 390 hp and reaching around 240 km/h together with a manual gearbox, thus becoming the fastest four-seater in the world at that time…

Facel had, in fact, a very short history (1954 to 1964), having produced only about 2900 cars, but this Facel Vega Facel II by Ringo Starr is certainly a good tribute to this French manufacturer, who at the time “ competed” with other car manufacturers, such as Rolls-Royce, currently synonymous with luxury and refinement in the Automotive Industry.
