The new XC40 P6 Recharge now arrives on the Portuguese market and expands the electric offer of the Swedish SUV, which was Volvo's first electric vehicle, becoming its entry step.
If on the outside it doesn't differ from the XC40 Recharge we already knew — and tested —, it's in the cinematic chain that the big difference between the two versions emerges.
The new P6 Recharge comes equipped with only one electric motor mounted on the front axle, unlike the P8 Recharge, which has two electric motors (one per axle).
The XC40 P6 Recharge is thus only front-wheel drive, with its electric motor delivering 170 kW (231 hp) and allowing an acceleration to 0 to 100 km/h in 7.4s. By comparison, the twin-engine P8 Recharge delivers 300 kW (408 hp) and needs just 4.9s for the same throttle register. As with all Volvos today, top speed is limited to 180 km/h.
Volvo announces a range of 400 km (WLTP), with the XC40 P6 Recharge equipped with a battery with a total capacity of 69 kWh, corresponding to 67 kWh of useful capacity. Charging the battery from 0 to 80% can take as little as 32 minutes at a high-speed (direct current) charging station, allowing charging up to 150 kW.
How much does it cost?
