Production of Lamborghini Gallardo comes to an end

Ten years later, the last "bull" of the species is born. With him also dies a lineage... a noble and refined lineage.

This week marks the end of the production of one of the most successful sports cars ever. A well-born sports car that over the course of a decade about aging like few others, remaining as current and competitive as on the first day. We speak, as you have certainly noticed, about the Lamborghini Gallardo.

However, since the distant year of 2003, almost everything has changed in the automobile industry. But as a well-born product that it was, the Lamborghini Gallardo knew how to go through the years with incredible dexterity, only undergoing changes in detail. After 10 years of production, the balance could not be more positive: 14,022 units sold. A value that represents almost 50% of the total production of the Italian brand since 1963(!).

Its successor may be close at hand – they say it will be called Cabrera but the name is still unclear – but either way, no one will forget the Lamborghini Gallardo.

An age also dies with him. The era of manual gearbox “supercars”, of which Gallardo was the last disciple.
