The 9 Jaguar XKSS classics have already been sold. Guess how much...

To honor the D-Type, the racing car that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans three times in a row, Jaguar developed the 1957 Jaguar XKSS . Success was immediate—Steve McQueen himself had a copy. Today, almost six decades later, the British model is considered one of the most important models ever in the automotive industry.

That's why the Jaguar Land Rover Classic decided to produce nine new units of the British classic , the same number of copies destroyed in a fire at the brand's factory in 1957 — thus closing the cycle interrupted by the disastrous fire.

These nine copies will be hand-built by the brand's engineers at the new facility in Warwick, England, with the same specifications as the original version and using the same procedures.

As these models were exactly the same as the originals launched in 1957, naturally there was a small group of brand enthusiasts willing to open the purse strings to have a copy in the garage. The exact figure has not been revealed, but according to Tim Hannig, Jaguar Land Rover Classic's new director, all models for sale have already been sold for a price starting at 1.5 million dollars, around 1.34 million euros — now multiply by nine…

The first deliveries will start to be made in the first quarter of next year, and the last unit will only leave the "production line" in 2018.
