The specifications of the new Ford F-150 Raptor, the American “super pick-up” were unveiled.

Are you familiar with the Olympic motto “citius, altius, fortius“, which in good Portuguese means “faster, higher, stronger”? Well, it was certainly inspired by this motto that the blue oval brand developed the new Ford F-150 Raptor. According to sources from the brand, the second generation 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine that equips the new generation of this pick-up has gained a new injection system and two more efficient turbochargers. In total, there are 455 hp of power at 5,000 rpm and 691 Nm of maximum torque at 3,500 rpm, transmitted to all four wheels through a new 10-speed automatic transmission.

One of Ford's main bets on this new model is fuel economy and the reduction of the total weight of the set, and then the solution found was a better choice of materials. The new aluminum body makes the pick-up around 226 kg lighter. Still, the Ford F-150 Raptor continues to have a towing capacity of over 3600 kg. None of these values have been officially confirmed by Ford, so we can only wait for more news from the oval brand. The first units should arrive at American dealerships next November. It's a shame that this open-box “giant” doesn't come to Europe. Gasoline, how much do you oblige...
