Hennessey Venom F5, the supercar that could reach 480 km/h

Anonim

Decorate this name: Hennessey Venom F5 . It is with this model that the American preparer Hennessey Performance Engineering wants to once again break all speed records, namely the fastest production model ever.

The Venom F5 is something of a new chapter in the war between Hennessey and Bugatti, after a ludicrous episode in 2012. When the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse was launched, Bugatti called it the “fastest convertible in the world”. John Hennessey, founder of the brand with the same name, was quick to respond: “Bugatti kiss my ass!”.

Now, with this new model, Hennessey promises a top speed close to the barrier – considered unattainable not so long ago – of 300 miles per hour (483 km/h). This in a car approved for use on public roads!

And to achieve this, it will not resort to a chassis with Lotus Exige and Elise components – like the Venom GT – but to its own structure, developed from scratch. Hennessey promises even more power and better aerodynamic indices compared to the current model, which reached 435 km/h in 2014 (not homologated for not having been fulfilled the two attempts in opposite directions).

The images you can see anticipate the final look of the car, quite distinct from the original Venom GT.

Hennessey Venom F5

The F5 designation is taken from the highest category on the Fujita scale. This scale defines the destructive power of a tornado, implying wind speeds between 420 and 512 km/h. Values where the maximum speed of the Venom F5 will fit.

John Hennessey recently opened Hennessey Special Vehicles, a division that will be responsible for Hennessey's special projects, such as the Venom F5. Anyway, the Venom F5 will continue to be developed in Houston, Texas, a process that you can follow on Hennessey's youtube channel. The first episode is already «on air»:

As for the car itself, the launch of the Hennessey Venom F5 is scheduled for later this year.
