The Mazda MX-5 Cup will serve as the basis for the Japanese brand's monobrand trophies around the world. The last details of the models are being drawn up at the Circuit de Laguna Seca.
The Mazda MX-5 trophy is reputed to be one of the most competitive and affordable in motorsport, attracting early-career drivers and gentleman drivers who only want to race at the weekend at controlled costs for several years.
Companies have also found this formula to be an excellent “excuse” to invite partners and customers to experience a different weekend and deepen relationships.
With the entry into the scene of the new Mazda MX-5, lighter and more balanced, the well-known trophy should be back in full form. With a view to starting these competitions around the world, the Japanese brand traveled to the mythical American track at Laguna Seca with the final version of the Mazda MX-5 Cup.

It now remains to decide which components will be used in the model. Namely tyres, suspensions and brakes. The brand intends to find out which components guarantee the best compromise between performance and safety at controlled costs.
To make this selection, he invited the pilot Tom Long. A driver who started his fruitful sporting career right behind the wheel of a previous generation Mazda MX-5 Cup. According to the statement from the brand, Tom Long has to choose from "seven different brands of tyres, eight suppliers of brakes and seven different suppliers of suspensions". Selected brands will supply these components globally for all Mazda MX-5 Cups.
If all goes as planned, by the end of this summer Mazda will have the final prices and specifications for the model. Until then, drivers, companies and gentleman drivers are waiting… so do we!
