According to Land Rover, the Range Rover should become even more luxurious from the next generation onwards.
It is to face strong competition – namely the proposal of another British brand, the Bentley Bentayga – that Land Rover is preparing a more luxurious model, a little in line with what was done with the Range Rover SVAutobiography (in the image) . Speaking to Automotive News, Gerry McGovern, responsible for the brand's design department, ruled out the production of a new model; instead, Land Rover aims to take the Range Rover to another level.“As Discovery and Discovery Sport become more premium models, it becomes necessary to make the Range Rover an even more luxurious model”, revealed McGovern, guaranteeing at the same time that the model will not have reached its limit in price terms.

Gerry McGovern has also stated that he will not gain a third row of seats (7-seat configuration). For now, this configuration will be reserved for Discovery and Range Rover Sport, models with a little more familiar characteristics, while the possible successor to Defender would be the proposal of Land Rover for off-road adventures.
