After the Opel Combo-e Life and Peugeot e-Rifter, it's time for the Citroën ë-Berlingo make itself known and reinforce Citroën's electrified offer.

After we have already made it known in its commercial variant, the ë-Berlingo now arrives in the passenger version, being available in two lengths (the short M version is 4.40 m and the long XL version measures 4.75 m) and with up to seven places.

Based on the eCMP platform, the same one already used by the Peugeot e-208, e-2008, Opel Corsa-e and Mokka-e, the ë-Berlingo has an electric motor of 136 hp (100 kW) and 260 Nm.

In total, the Citroën ë-Berlingo has three driving modes:

  • Eco — delivers 82 hp (60 kW) and 180 Nm and is focused on efficiency, decreasing heating and air conditioning performance;
  • Normal — offers 109 hp (80 kW) and 210 Nm and tries to combine efficiency and performance;
  • Power — delivers 136 hp (100 kW) and 260 Nm and, as the name implies, is focused on performance.

And the battery?

Having revealed the data related to the electric motor, it's time to talk about the battery that “gives” energy. With 50 kWh of capacity with liquid cooling, it allows an autonomy of up to 280 km.

Charging can be done in three different ways:

  • Normal charging: via the “Type 2” cable. In this case, you can use a standard 8 A socket and/or a 16 A reinforced socket (Wallbox + Green’Up socket). In this case the charging time is halved, about 15 hours;
  • Fast charging: this requires a Wallbox from 3.7 to 22 kW and the “Type” cable

    3” (optional). In this case, the charging time is 7h30min in a single-phase 7.4 kW Wallbox or 5 hours in a three-phase 11 kW Wallbox;

  • Super-fast charging: in this case the ë-Berlingo supports charging up to 100 kW of power, using a “Type 4” cable integrated in the charger. In this case, it is possible to restore 80% of the battery in just 30 minutes.

What most sets you apart?

Compared to other passenger versions of the Citroën Berlingo, the ë-Berlingo counts, as you would expect, with some exclusive details. On the outside, the biggest highlights are the monogram “ë”, the absence of a front grille and the “Blue Anodized” details on the bumpers and Airbumps.

Inside, we find the ë-Toggle command that controls the transmission and we see the 8” touchscreen displaying a specific menu that informs us about the energy flow, the functioning of the electrical system and the battery charge level and the usual statistics .
