The most venomous snake in the car industry will give birth to 33 new offspring. The Chrysler Group didn't want to waste any more time and released the "spicier" version of the new SRT Viper, nicknamed TA (acronym for Time Attack), days before the New York Motor Show.
After the "beat" that the SRT Viper GTS took from the new Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 at the Laguna Seca circuit, the responsibles of the brand decided to perfect the venom of their snake so that what happened the last time the Viper crossed would not happen again with the Corvette on the track. It was two seconds of difference per lap, two seconds of pure shame...
Therefore, the SRT Viper TA now comes with new Brembo brakes capable of withstanding higher temperatures and a fully updated suspension specially designed for «track days». And to help optimize the car, some of the aluminum components gave way to carbon fiber, which allowed for a loss of 2.7 kg compared to the conventional version of the Viper and 2.3 kg compared to the much-hated Corvette ZR1.
Contrary to what you might think, the 8.4 liter V10 remains precisely the same: there are 640 snakes of power and 814 Nm of agonizing bites.
All 33 units of this TA will be precisely the same, so there is no chance of customization by customers. The SRT Viper TA will be presented at the New York Salon on March 27th and its sale will only take place in the last quarter of the year.
