SEAT is looking for a name for its new SUV. Do you want to help?

As you know, the presentation of the new Arona, Ateca's younger brother, is coming soon. While it is not revealed, attention turns to the new SUV scheduled for 2018, which will position itself above the Ateca.

Available in a seven-seat configuration, this SUV will benefit from the flexible and versatile MQB platform. And despite the nomenclatures already registered by SEAT in Europe – some of them are Barna, Formentor, Mallorca, and Vigo – the truth is that the next Spanish SUV still doesn't have a name. Still!

After having received numerous proposals since the car was announced in March, SEAT has now decided to launch an unprecedented project in the brand, whose objective is to find a name for the new model. The criteria is the same as always: must be the name of a Spanish city or region.

"SEAT decided to challenge all brand enthusiasts to propose and later vote on the name for the new SUV [...] We redefined the usual process in order to create a connection with the public and the brand's followers, from beginning to end of the project".

The initiative is divided into four stages:

  1. From today (June 1st) until the 22nd of this month, anyone can submit their favorite name, taking into account certain criteria. In addition to having to be related to Spanish geography, the name will have to respect the values of the brand and it will have to be easy to pronounce in different languages.
  2. Once applications are received, SEAT specialists will pre-select all submitted names. Finalists will be announced on September 12 at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
  3. Voting on the final name will take place between the 12th and 25th of September.
  4. The most voted name will be announced on October 15th.
