Honda returns to Formula 1 as Mclaren Honda – The Tokyo bosses left the Formula 1 World Championship in 2008 and will now return, to supply engines to Mclaren in 2015.
After abandoning Formula 1 at the end of 2008, the change in the competition rules that required the engines to change to 1600cc turbo V6 with direct injection was the motto for Honda to re-enter the race. Those responsible for the brand guarantee that this engine is already in the process of development and that the Japanese manufacturer, be amazed, will return to competition as Mclaren Honda. Mclaren will be responsible for managing the team and developing the chassis, as well as its manufacture.
This news will certainly stir the hearts of the most homesick, who, like me, remember the stories of the heyday of Formula 1, in a team where drivers like Alain Prost and the incomparable Ayrton Senna passed. The first season and return of the Mclaren Honda team to Formula 1 will be in 2015.
