The Italian brand surpassed the 8000-unit barrier for the first time and achieved net profits of 400 million euros.

It's been a great year for Ferrari. The Italian brand announced yesterday the results for 2016, and as expected, achieved growth in sales and profits compared to 2015.

Last year alone, 8,014 models left the Maranello factory, a growth of 4.6% compared to the previous year. According to Ferrari CEO Sergio Marchionne, this result is due to the success of the V8 sports car family – 488 GTB and 488 Spider. “It was a good year for us. We are satisfied with the progress we have had”, says the Italian businessman.

From 290 million euros in 2015, Ferrari achieved net profits of 400 million euros last year, representing a growth of 38%. The EMEA market (Europe, Middle East and Africa) remains the most popular, followed by the American and Asian continents.

For 2017, the goal is to surpass the mark of 8,400 units, but without distorting the brand's DNA. “We continue to be pressured to produce an SUV, but it's hard for me to see a Ferrari model that doesn't have the dynamics that are characteristic of us. We have to be disciplined not to degrade the brand”, commented Sergio Marchionne.
