Car of the Year 2017 already has a Jury and a defined calendar

Enrollments are now open for the 33rd edition of the Essilor Car of the Year/Troféu Volante de Cristal, an initiative that, as in previous years, aims to elect the best cars available on the domestic market. Keeping faithful to its philosophy of service to the public, this initiative organized by Expresso and SIC Notícias will award the “2017 Car of the Year”, receiving the respective representative or importer the “Crystal Wheel Trophy”.

In parallel, the best automotive products (versions) will be distinguished in different segments of the national market. These awards, called “Car Trophies”, will include a set of distinct segments: City, Family, Executive, Van, Minivan, Convertible, Sports and Crossover. All this with the collaboration of 18 of the main national media, including Razão Automóvel, which integrates the Permanent Jury for the first time.

Enrollment for the 2016 Essilor Car of the Year/Crystal Wheel Trophy 2016 closes on October 1st, while the dynamic rehearsal period runs until December 31st. The selection of the seven finalists will be made in January of next year, in a first voting session, and the election of the 2017 Car of the Year in Portugal, as well as the winners of the different categories, is scheduled for February 2017.
