Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus threatens Lamborghini record in «Green Inferno»

Anonim

The Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus (SCG) points to a «cannon time» of 6 minutes and 30 seconds, but… there is always a but!

That SCG wants to have the fastest production car on the Nürburgring is nothing new. The American builder's intentions had already been announced by Jim Glickenhaus, the brand's founder, earlier this year.

The task got a little more difficult after the record time set by the new Lamborghini Huracán Performante in March: 6:52.01 minutes.

Hard but not impossible

Apparently, the American brand is using the SCG 003C (Competizione) as a starting point to make the necessary improvements to the SCG003S (Stradale, above), presented in Geneva.

SCG has recently entered its SCG003C in the Nürburgring 24 Hours, with the Chris Ruud Lightspeed Racing team, a race that will take place at the end of the month. In this on-board video shared by SCG, it is possible to see SCG 003C on a lap of the German circuit circuit, in which it spent only 6 minutes 40 seconds:

Given the record achieved, and although it is a competition version, SCG could not resist comparing it with rivals from Stuttgart (Porsche 918 Spyder) and Sant’Agata Bolognese (Lamborghini Huracan Performante). The final goal is well defined: 6 minutes and 30 seconds with the road version. It will be possible? We'll be here to see.
