Seat Leon Cupra's maximum torque is now available in a wider band.

There are those who argue that too much power is a concept that does not exist. For these, the news that Seat Leon Cupra has received 10 more horses in the 'stable' is excellent news. The Volkswagen Group's well-known 2.0 TSI engine rose from 280hp to 290hp.

The brand did not announce how it achieved these gains, but most likely it was achieved through changes in the engine's electronic management. Perhaps more important than the power gain is the fact that maximum torque is now available between 1700 and 5800rpm. Top speed remains limited to 250km/h.

In the hatchback version – one of three available bodies – the Leon Cupra accelerates from 0-100km/h in just 5.7 seconds. The Spanish brand also announces lower consumption: 6.6 l/100km and emissions of just 149g/km.
