Volvo C90 could be the Swedish brand's next bet

A few days after the presentation of the latest Volvo saloon, the Swedish brand announced another model.

On the sidelines of the presentation of the new Volvo S90, Thomas Ingenlath, vice president of the Volvo design department, hinted that the brand is working on a coupé version of this model. Ingenlath suggested that the model in question will have several similarities to the Volvo Concept Coupé (in the pictures) presented in 2013.

The name of this new model should be Volvo C90 – our bet goes in that direction. Remember that the last coupés of the Swedish brand always used the acronym C in the name (S for saloons and V for vans).

Volvo Concept Coupe

Based on the platform of the newly launched XC90 generation, the Volvo C90 will likely inherit a 4-cylinder engine, with the possibility of a plug-in hybrid powertrain being open.

The new sports car will be on display at the Geneva Motor Show next March. As for production, this should only start after the end of the development process for the range of electric vehicles and the renovation of the entire range of current vehicles.
