Volkswagen Group wants to have more than 30 new electric models by 2025

The Volkswagen Group today announced the strategic plan for the next decade, which includes the production of three dozen new 100% electric vehicles.

“Correcting the shortcomings of the past and establishing a culture of transparency, based on values ​​and integrity” – this is the objective of the Volkswagen Group's new strategic plan until 2025. In a statement, the group announced that it intends to be the world's leading supplier of solutions sustainable mobility, in what represents the greatest process of change in the history of the German conglomerate.

Matthias Müller, Group CEO, guaranteed that “the entire Volkswagen Group will be more efficient, innovative and customer-oriented, which will systematically generate profitable growth”. With the production of 30 new electric models by 2025, Müller hopes to be able to sell two to three million units worldwide, which is equivalent to 20/25% of the brand's total sales.

The Wolfsburg-based group's strategic plan – responsible for the Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini, Seat, Skoda and Porsche brands, among others – also includes the development of its own autonomous driving technology and new batteries, as well as the improvement of efficiency and profitability of its platforms.
