SF90 Spider. Ferrari's Most Powerful Convertible Ever

Anonim

Revealed just over a year after the SF90 Stradale, the Ferrari SF90 Spider arrives to snatch the title of the most powerful Ferrari convertible ever.

This is achieved thanks to the fact that the new SF90 Spider shares with its roof-top brother the hybrid mechanics that animate it and make it the most powerful road Ferrari ever.

Thus, the V8 twin turbo (F154) with 4.0 l, 780 hp at 7500 rpm and 800 Nm at 6000 rpm are joined by three electric motors — one positioned at the rear between the engine and gearbox and two on the front axle — that deliver 220 hp of power.

The final result is 1000 hp and 900 Nm, values that are sent to the four wheels through an automatic dual-clutch gearbox with eight gears.

Heavier but as fast as the SF90 Stradale

As might be expected, the process of transforming the Ferrari SF90 Stradale into the SF90 Spider brought an added weight to the second.

Despite the necessary structural reinforcements and the roof mechanism, the Ferrari SF90 Spider weighs just over 100 kg (1670 kg), which is why Ferrari claims it is as fast as the rigid roof version.

This means that 100 km/h reach the same in 2.5s, 200 km/h in 7s and the maximum speed is 340 km/h.

more different than it looks

Contrary to what you might think, the Ferrari SF90 Spider is little more than simply a roofless version of the SF90 Stradale.

According to Ferrari, the cabin has been moved slightly forward to make room for the roof mechanism, the roofline has dropped 20 mm and the windshield has a greater inclination.

Speaking of the hood, thanks to the fact that it is produced in aluminium, it saved 40 kg and can open or close in just 14s, occupying, according to Ferrari, 50 liters less space than a conventional system.

As for the interior, this practically remained the same as the SF90 Stradale, with the exception being the adoption of some elements designed to channel the air into the cabin, something especially necessary when taking into account that the rear window can be opened.
