Cold Start. Mercedes Sprinter ambulance/caravan in full on autobahn

Anonim

Launched in 1995 and renovated in 2000, the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter it is, all over Europe, one of the main choices of fire brigades to be converted into an ambulance.

The example that stars in this video from TopSpeedGermany channel is a post-facelift version of the German van that was born in 2003 and after having served as an ambulance, it has since been transformed into a… caravan.

Under the hood is a diesel four-cylinder with a 2.1 l capacity with 129 hp and 300 Nm of torque delivered between 1600 rpm and 2400 rpm. As for the transmission, this is in charge of a robotized manual gearbox with six relations.

All of this allowed the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, when it was new, to reach a maximum speed of 155 km/h, a respectable figure when considering that it is an ambulance.

Now, about 20 years after having left the production line and having traveled many kilometers (and a kitchen and a room in the back), can this old ambulance still manage to reach the advertised values? For them to discover the best is even watching the video.
