Alpine B5 with 600 horsepower

The Alpina B5 Bi-Turbo is born from the excellent base of the BMW M5 550i and adds some weighty arguments to it.

The Alpina B5 Bi-Turbo Saloon and Alpina B5 Bi-Turbo Touring had already been introduced earlier this year, but now, with 2016 almost there, Alpina has decided to revise the 4.4 liter V8 engine. Power rose to 600 horsepower and torque to 800Nm.

With this engine, the Alpina B5 Bi-Turbo promises acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 328 km/h. Despite these numbers, Alpina promises moderate consumption: 9.5 liters and emissions of 221g of CO2 per 100km – as we are close to Christmas, we will say that we believe.

To support the increased power, Alpina has revised the sports suspension (equipped with electronically adjustable shock absorbers and active stabilization), which together with an optimized braking system and 8-speed automatic transmission give the Alpina B5 an improved performance.

The Alpina B5 will be on the roads in early 2016, it remains to be seen if we will see it in Portugal.

Hat tip: The basis of this Alpina derives from the BMW 550i, not the M5. Thanks to Diogo Rendas and Nuno Gomes for the tip.
