The prototype that will be on display at the Paris Motor Show anticipates the design lines of the next generation of the Mitsubishi Outlander.

The model that will be highlighted at the Mitsubishi space at the Paris Motor Show, in two weeks' time, was finally revealed. Unsurprisingly, the Mitsubishi Ground Tourer (or GT-PHEV Concept) once again expresses the four essential elements for the Japanese brand: “functional beauty, expanded possibilities, Japanese know-how and continuous impetus”.

According to the brand, in the development of this concept, the main features of the Japanese team were the quality of materials, functionality and aerodynamics. The big highlight is the slimmer and elongated profile, lower roof line, luminous signature with longer headlamps and the “scissor doors” (vertical opening) – Mitsubishi also replaced the side mirrors for cameras. Some of these solutions should even reach production.

Although no pictures of the interior have been revealed, Mitsubishi guarantees a cabin in keeping with the outside environment: dashboard with horizontal lines and leather seats in shades similar to those of the roof.

In mechanical terms, the GT-PHEV Concept has a combustion engine for the front axle and two electric motors for the rear axle, in an all-wheel drive scheme (Super All Wheel Control). According to Mitsubishi, the autonomy in exclusively electric mode is 120 km. The GT-PHEV Concept will be alongside the eX Concept and the latest versions of the Outlander and Outlander PHEV, among others. The Paris Salon runs from the 1st to the 16th of October.
