As it should be, McLaren wants to be big at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and will take two very special McLaren P1 GTRs.

The Woking-based brand has announced that it will be present at the 2016 edition of the Goodwood Festival – which takes place between June 24th and 26th – with two special models. The first will be a black McLaren P1 GTR with a combination of yellow, red and blue stripes, named after pilot James Hunt (who wore the same color scheme on his helmet). Remember that this British rider beat Niki Lauda by just one point in the 1976 World Championship. Now, four decades later, McLaren celebrates the achievement with a commemorative model that will be driven by Bruno Senna, nephew of the iconic Ayrton Senna.

In addition to this model, the brand will also take a McLaren P1 GTR “road legal” signed by Lanzante Limited, the same brand that led the F1 GTR to victory in the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans. At the wheel of the sports car will be Kenny Bräck, the Swedish driver who won the 1999 Indianapolis 500 Miles, who will be looking to make this McLaren P1 GTR the fastest road-legal model ever on Goodwood's 1.86km ramp.
