Crossland X: that's the name of the new Opel crossover

The Opel Crossland X joins the Mokka X in the range of the German brand's most adventurous proposals. The new crossover hits the market in 2017.

The debut was the new Mokka X, launched a few weeks ago in Portugal, but now the letter “X” will multiply to mark the arrival of new crossovers to the Opel range. The first, the Opel Crossland X , arrives at the beginning of 2017 and will complement the offer of the German brand in the segment of commercial vehicles.

Thus, Opel is adopting this nomenclature to distinguish models with more dynamic and adventurous characteristics, whether SUV's or Crossovers. The new Crossland X is the first model in Opel's “7 in 17” plan, which, as the name implies, aims to launch seven models over the next year.

For now, the German brand did not want to reveal details, but Tina Müller, responsible for the marketing department at Opel, guarantees that this will be a dynamic, spacious model, with an attractive design and all the benefits inherent to an urban SUV – agile in the city and confident over long distances. “Consumers want more exciting models in the SUV segment, and the new Crossland X meets those expectations,” she says.

The Opel Crossland X will be produced in Zaragoza, Spain, and hits the market in 2017, leading an onslaught of brand new crossovers.
