What if you could buy a car “in stockings” and use it to the full? This is Nissan's plan for 2017.

Carlos Ghosn, Nissan's CEO and head of the Renault-Nissan Alliance, came to Portugal to talk about the brand's plans for the mobility of the future at the Web Summit. According to Ghosn, the brand will launch a digital platform for car sharing in 2017.

NOT TO BE MISSED: Friendly declaration will now be made by mobile phone

Each user buys a part of the car, thus earning the right to shared use of a network made up of Nissan Micra models – this model will serve as the basis for this platform. This platform, dubbed NISSAN INTELLIGENT GET & GO MICRA, will use social networks and geolocation to find the ideal co-owners for such car sharing.

The entry fee for this shared owner network already includes all expenses related to the car (maintenance, insurance, etc.). Owner communities are also required to not exceed the 15,000 km traveled annually. That's how Nissan sees the car: increasingly integrated into the lifestyle and needs of modern societies.
